BHUBANESWAR: The under scanner IIC Rebati Sabar , has been serving in Kandhamal district since long and before she shifted to G Udayagiri, she had served at Tikabali Police limits of the district.
Odisha Police Organisation twice had shared her Photos in Social Media sites on International Women’s Day. One photo, where IIC Sabar was seen posing at Tikabali PS and another at G Udayagiri PS, sources said.
IIC Sabar’s ugly activities only came to fore following the suicide of a woman Sub-Inspector Swagatika Behera, who hails from Khurda’s Nirakarpur areas, was posted there following her completion of training. Deceased SI Behera was posted at G Udayagiri police station, one-and-a-half years ago.
Family members of deceased SI Behera staged a dharna in front of the police station demanding arrest of IIC Rebati Sabar. They also demanded dismissal of IIC Sabar from police service.
Mother and brother of the deceased had also met G Udayagiri SDPO and filed an FIR alleging that the IIC was torturing Swagatika mentally, for which she took the extreme step of killing her by hanging herself.
