BHUBANESWAR: Role of Private Secretary and Officer on Special Duty(OSD) to Chief Minister , Deputy Chief Minister and Ministers always carries significance but in Odisha, these category people facing frequent transfer, reason best known to them or to their political bosses.
Take the case of Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, at least 3 officers including Private Secretary and Officer on Special Duty have been transferred from her office raising many eyebrows in last 17 months.
On Tuesday, Deputy CM Parida’s OSD Manoj Kumar Behera was transferred and posted as Administrative Officer at Jajpur based Maharaja Jajati Keshari Medical College.
Delang BDO in Puri, Khitish Behera posted as Deputy CM Parida’s OSD. Behera’s this year July transferred order to Jajpur based Maharaja Jajati Keshari Medical College has been cancelled.
It may be noted here that, Odisha Deputy CM Parida, earlier had changed her Private Secretary. First OAS Officer Biswa Ranjan Rath was posted as Deputy CM Parida’s Private Secretary but after few months, Rath was transferred.
After Rath left, OAS Officer Kanhu Charan Dhir was posted as Deputy CM Parida’s Private Secretary but few months later, in November this year, Dhir faced the same fate as Rath and transferred from the post of Deputy CM Parida’s PS Post.
Such frequent transfer of senior officers from Deputy CM office has raised many eyebrows in power corridor. Deputy CM Parida’s archrival BJP Leader Samir Dash time and again alleging about large scale corruption in Nimapara Assembly seat, from where Parida representing to Odisha State Assembly.
