BHUBANESWAR: Some fraudster has created a fake Instagram account by using Kendrapara BJD Lok Sabha MP, Anubhav Mohanty’s name and is asking for donations from his fans.
After knowing this, MP Mohanty has lodged a complaint with Cyber Crime and Economic Offences police station in Odisha’s Cuttack seeking action and seizer of the said fake account. MP Mohanty alleged that the fake account, which has over 1,94,000 followers, is seeking donations from his fans.
“It is a matter of grave concern that a fake account on my name has been opened on Instagram which has some 194K followers and has been asking for donations. The fake account has also blocked my own account so that I cannot see any nefarious activities,” MP Mohanty said in the complaint.
“I request you to take strict action against the wrongdoers and block the account immediately so that fake donation campaigns no longer run. I also request to take some exemplary actions against them so that it isn’t repeated or done by anyone else in future,” MP Mohanty added.
