BHUBANESWAR: The fourth edition of ‘SOAFAL MALA’, the commemorative volume comprising lectures by eminent scientists delivered as part of the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Fortnightly Academic Lecture Series, was released by SOA Founder President Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak on Wednesday.

The fourth volume of the book comprises lectures by 25 distinguished Indian women scientists who are featured in the book ‘Lilavati’s Daughters’ edited by Prof. Rohini Godbole and Prof. Ram Ramaswamy. This also contains a special Rohini Godbole Memorial Lecture by Prof. Ramaswamy. The lectures have been delivered on digital platforms.

Lectures by three women scientists of Odisha, Prof. Sikha Varma, Prof.
Priymbada Mohanty Hejmadi and Prof. Pushpa Khare have been included in the
new volume edited by Prof. Nachieketa Khamari Sharma, Director of SOA’s
University Outreach Program.

The earlier three volumes of ‘SOAFAL MALA’ also comprised 25 lectures
each. Till now 112 lectures have been delivered in the series which began in
January 2021 inspired by former SOA Vice-Chancellor and eminent neuro-surgeon
Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Mahapatra.

Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Vice-Chancellor of SOA, Prof. (Dr.) Prasenjit
Mohanty, Prof. Prasanta Kumar Patra and Prof. Anup Kumar Samantaray, all Pro-
Vice Chancellors, Associate Prof. Sashanka Mishra, Additional Registrar and Engg.
Manorama Parida, Head, Biomedical were present during the release of the book.
Prof. Sharma outlined how the SOAFAL MALA series was contemplated and the
journey so far.
