BHUBANESWAR: ‘A dream doesn’t become a reality through magic, it takes sweat, determination and hard work’, said Collin Powell, former US Secretary of State.
As we look back on Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan’s journey spanning a quarter century, our experience matches the above statement of the renowned US army officer and diplomat.
SOA, as our university is popularly known, has faced numerous difficulties and obstacles in its endeavour to develop as a multi-disciplinary institution of higher education focusing on quality education and focused research. Its rise to be counted as the 16th best university in the country by NIRF is a testimony to the unrelenting effort of its faculty, researchers, staff and students to excel.
As a happy coincidence, the University Grants Commission has also conferred on SOA the status of Category 1 Deemed to be University as per the provisions of the UGC regulations which will entail a lot of autonomy to expand its activities.
On SOA’s 16th Foundation Day, I greet all whose contribution has helped the university to grow and expand over the years. The journey has just started and we have a long road ahead. I am confident that the willingness of the stakeholders to strive for excellence will help SOA reach its destination.
