BHUBANESWAR: Former Union Minister Dilip Ray had paid an emotional tribute to his former close associate, RC Mishra, who passed away in Bhubaneswar. Mishra was just 51 year old when he breathed his last while fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic. He is survived by wife Anupama and two sons Ashutosh and Abhishek besides two brothers and one sister.
“This morning only, I posted a note on how life is being so unkind to us these days and just an hour ago, one of my closest associate who has been more than a family to me left for the heavenly abode due to COVID. I am devastated and completely broken by the untimely demise of R C Mishra. He has been one of my biggest pillar of strength for the last 27 years and today I feel a part of me has left. From politics to my Hotel business, I used to depend on him a lot and even had appointed him in a key position in my trust with a hope that he would look after MAYFAIR and my Family after me but little did I know, he would leave me mid-way like this. His passing away leaves a void in my life that would perhaps never be fulfilled. I don’t remember, the last time when I cried but today when I received this news, I couldn’t hold back my tears,” the Mayfair Hotel Group Chairman, wrote in a Facebook post.
“When he tested positive, I repeatedly insisted him to go for treatment immediately and given the overwhelmed medical infrastructure in Delhi, I even asked him to come to Bhubaneswar as soon as possible but he too, like many others took the threat lightly. Though eventually, he received the best of medical treatment but then perhaps it was too late.I would therefore, once again implore you all that don’t take this lightly. More than the disease itself, delayed treatment is claiming more lives. Please please even at the slightest of symptoms, get yourself tested and treated under proper medical supervision because life is precious more than anything else. Rest in Peace Mishra!!!You will be missed a lot,”Ray wrote.
