BHUBANSWAR: Coping with the demands of a fast paced world has robbed most people of the joy of enjoying nutritious food.
In fact, the importance of nutrition in daily intake of food has taken a backseat as people rush through their meals without thinking what they are eating. To focus on this incongruity, SUM Ultimate Medicare is organizing a day-long food festival on Wednesday (April 6) to educate people on the need for nutritious food.
“We believe food nourishes the mind, body and soul. So we decided to organize the food festival on the eve of the World Health Day on April 7 to create awareness about traditional nutritious food. Our intention is to breathe life into the legacy of Odisha’s traditional dishes and showcase their nutritional value,” Dr. Swetapadma Dash, Chief Executive Officer of the hospital said.
The 12-hour festival, which will commence at 9 am, will be an occasion to indulge the taste buds while focusing on nutrition at the same time, she said.
There will be nine separate counters serving different biryani, ghee bhat with chicken or mutton curry, the traditional pakhala with accompaniments, baked delicacies, tandoori items, rolls and parathas and a variety of snacks including dosas, dahi vada and chats. A separate counter will dish out a variety of healthy beverages bel panna, amba panna, lassi, fruit shake, lemon water, fresh fruit juices and butter milk.
