Follow Odisha Government’s steps to contain Coronavirus, says MP Dr Sasmit Patra in RS

NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: While urging the Union Government to undertake steps taken by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in bringing about social distancing measures as well as dedicated sensitization session for all MLAs in Odisha, the ruling BJD Rajya MP Dr Sasmit Patra was on Monday said the same should be done for MPs for emulation.

The young MP from Odisha in Upper of House of Parliament, Dr Patra  raised the issue of Coronavirus menace and was provided one minute to make his points very quickly by Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu.

“Raised the issue of Corona Virus menace in RS today and suggested six measures in the one minute provided. Also placed the measures by CM Naveen Patnaik in social distancing measures and sensitization session for all MLAs (which should be done for MPs)for emulation,” Dr Patra twitted.

Dr.Patra placed six points in that brief period provided. He suggested to the Parliament that it should undertake steps taken by Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik in bringing about social distancing measures as well as dedicated sensitization session for all MLAs in Odisha. A similar session should be done for the MPs in Parliament, Dr. Patra suggested.

The BJD MP also suggested measures relating to sanitization of ATMs, increasing testing centers, providing more PP Suits for Doctors, screenings in domestic airport terminals (screenings are presently being done only in international terminals).

Further, he also raised the issue of the economic impact of social distancing on daily wage earners and requested that the Government look at this nation-wide matter deeply.
