KORAPUT: The First time ever Parasailing Camp for NCC Cadets in Odisha was organised under the aegis NCC Group Headquarter Berhampur by 1 Odisha Inf Indep Coy NCC under at Vikram Dev University from 24-28Feb, with an aim to instil confidence, courage and adventure spirit among cadets by providing them with a unique experience of airborne activities where 120 NCC Cadets, both boys and girls, from all corners of Odisha directorate arrived and participated in the adventure activity.
Lt Col Priti Ranjan Dash , Commanding Officer lauded the efforts of NCC Odisha in promoting adventure sports among youth and stated, “This camp is not just about adventure; it’s about building self-confidence, overcoming fear, and fostering leadership qualities in our cadets. Such activities help in their overall personality development and prepare them for future challenges.”
Cadet Shankar Pujari from Malkangiri college appreciated the camp and said we have always dreamed for such camp but never thought it will be hosted at our own land being in air is like a dream come true for me and it has inspired me to join Indian Army and go for Para troopers.
The Camp was organised under the guidance of trained professionals and experienced instructors, cadets were given theoretical and practical training on parasailing techniques, safety protocols, and equipment handling before taking to the skies. The event was supervised by NCC staff and adventure sports experts to ensure the highest standards of safety.
NCC has its moto “Unity and Discipline” and Odisha Directorate comprising NCC units of Army, Air & Naval wings, aims to organise such adventure activities in their curriculum to encourage cadets to explore new challenges and push their limits by giving them experience of Flying, Sailing, Firing, Drone training and various other adventure activities to prepare them for future.
