fire broke out in one restaurant namely No Limit air Cafe at Palasuni under Satya Vihar area of Bhubaneswar

The restaurant has a sign board as No Limit Bar.A team of Excise officers and staff conducted a raid a month ago on allegations that the restaurant was running a liquor Bar. During the search in late night, it is spotted that some people were smoking cigarettes and Hukka in the premises. No liquor was found and no proof of illegal liquor Bar could be established. The Cafe owner was also warned not to sale any liquor without a license.

After the fire broke out, the higher authority has instructed the concerned officers to cause an inquiry.

So far as Hookah bar is concerned as it is a nicotine based product, it does not come under preview of State  Excise to grant permission or regulate.

 Continuous raids on illegal slae points and inspection of Bars, hotels, restaurants and Dhabas are being conducted in Bhubaneswar city and cases are booked.

In the past few months, raid conducted at two  restaurants namely sky hi at Ghatikia and Mary Gold at Bapuji Nagar for operating bars without licence. The liquor bottles are seized and arrest is made in this connection.
