BHUBANESWAR:The Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department has come to the notice of the circulation of a fraudulent letter bearing the number PR-PADM- OM-PG-064-2025/4232 dated 24th November.
The government has created a post in the name of Gram Panchayat Pion and the letter has made a misleading claim that a monthly salary of Rs. 13,160 will be given. This letter has not been issued by the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department and it has been informed by the department that it is completely fraudulent.
This fake letter has been widely circulated on social media and major media outlets, creating confusion among the public. The department has sent a letter to the Home Department to register an FIR in this regard in the Cyber Crime Cell and has mentioned to identify the addresses of the creators, sources and propagators of the fake letter and investigate.
All District Collectors, Community Development Officers, District Panchayat Officers and Gram Panchayat officials have been directed to disregard this letter.
The department has requested the public to remain alert and not to take any action on the content of these fraudulent letters. The Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department has advised to trust only the information issued through the government and to immediately bring any suspicious letter or evidence to the attention of the authorities.
