BHUBANESWAR: BJD Rajya Sabha MP and the Regional ruling party’s minority face in Odisha, Dr Sasmit Patra was on Tuesday made both the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and State Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik happy by donating 1 month salary and Rs 1 crore from MPLADs to PMRF and Rs 1 crore and 3 months’ salary to CMRF to fight the outbreak of COVID-19.
Dr Sasmit Patra, since his nomination to Rajya Sabha from Odisha representing BJD, the young MP, got huge applaud even during his maiden speech in Upper House and consecutively getting praise from Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu for his eloquence while participating in House debates.
“Donated one month’s salary to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and provided One Crore MPLAD Fund to Central Government for fighting COVID-19.Earlier had donated three month’s salary to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund & provided One Crore MPLAD Fund to Mayurbhanj dist. for fighting CO. Undertaking my duty to both Centre and State for combating COVID-19,” the Rajya Sabha MP Dr Patra twitted.
