RAJKANIKA/AUL/KENDRAPARA: The COVID-19 positive patient of Kendrapara’s Aul block, who is undergoing treatment at Cuttack’s COVID-19 Ashwini Hospital, reportedly visited few villages under Bharigada Panchayat of Rajkanika block, sources revealed on Tuesday.

Even though, Aul Police have sealed over half dozen Panchayats but no step has been taken in Rajkanika. Local Tehsildar D Subhadarshi Joshi was seen roaming around several villages appealing people not to venture out while police have intensified patrolling in interior pockets of the block to flush out social gatherings.

Police in Aul and Rajkanika have imposed restriction on movement of general public since the positive case reported from a Dubai returnee of Aul. Collector Samartha Verma is closely monitoring the situation in Aul-Rajkanik as the twin blocks houses several foreign returnees.

Local BJD MLA and Former Minister Pratap Keshari Deb is also making frequent visits to relief and food and other distribution centres. Deb is also visiting various Community Health Centers and taking regular stock of the relief and restoration works. Twin Blocks houses more than 60 Panchayats and comes under Aul Assembly seat, a stronghold of local MLA Pratap Deb as well as also of the ruling BJD.
