BHUBANESWAR: On Thursday, Surendranath Mishra, Ex-Principal(retired), Biraja Sanskrit Mahavidyalay, Jajpur, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case vide Spl. Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack TR No.64/2012 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act,1988 for demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant for issuance of College Leaving Certificate (CLC), was convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.
He was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and fine of Rs.5,000/- and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 6 months more for the offence U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act, 1988.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Sri Surendranath Mishra, Ex-Principal following his conviction.Detailed report follows.
