BHUBANESWAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making continuous efforts to integrate Dibangs into the mainstream of the society and how they can get social justice and how they can be empowered in the society. Even after ruling for 75 years, the Congress did not pass the “Divine Rights Act”. It was passed in Parliament in 2016 after Modiji came to power.
Doing this changed Dibang’s life. Dibang spoke without using the word ‘distortion’ and introduced various schemes. Modi government has established “Sugam Bharat” app for Dibangas. With this app, a Dibang has been hired in various universities, schools, banks, post offices across the country and has set new records in the field of sports. Modiji has made arrangements for the Dibang community of all the states without any discrimination.
Sharma said Modiji has strengthened the right to education act from 3% to 5% in the education sector. Under Modiji’s leadership, GST, insurance and Fasttag have been waived for Dibang on the purchase of 4-wheelers in the country. Toll tax has been waived for Dibang. In addition, Dibang General Insurance has made it available with 50% discount. Even though the central government ordered to waive road tax on 4-wheelers along with GST for the Dibangs, the corrupt BJD government of the state is not implementing it. Road tax has been waived in all the BJP-ruled states under Modiji’s double-engine government, while Naveen’s government has not emphasized on it in Odisha. When the road tax came to be imposed on automatic vehicles, it was postponed for several days.
After the dibangs of Odisha informed the center about this, the central government put pressure on the state government and the state government has now implemented this rule in Odisha before the elections. Many such schemes do not reach the poor due to the negligence of the state government. But the Modi government is guaranteeing that whatever obstacles will be faced for the development of Dibang will be removed, he said.
For this, the Bharatiya Janata Party has for the third time put a chapter for the Dibangs in its resolution and when the BJP government comes, all the necessary developed equipment for the Dibangs will be made using modern technology. The operations of all the companies making these devices will be expanded. In this letter of resolution, Modiji has given a guarantee that if the BJP government comes, the Dibangs will be given priority in the housing scheme. Dibangs who were previously homeless will be benefited by this scheme. The Prime Minister emphasized on the implementation of all the laws enacted in the Dibang Act 2016 and also the various demands raised by the Dibangs from time to time.
There are many benefits of twin engine government. In other BJP-ruled states, no kind of revenue stamp duty is being imposed on Dibangs’ land or house purchases, while in Odisha, it is being collected from Dibangs. Tax is being taken from them in connection with buying a house. While other states with “double engine governments” have waived house and water tax, Odisha has not. Dibangs will benefit more if there is a “double engine government” in Odisha. In the field of entrepreneurship, under the leadership of Modi and BJP government, it will be possible for Dibangas to become entrepreneurs by taking government subsidies. Modiji has done another great work for Dibangans. By nominating Devendra Jhanjaria Dibang from the Churu parliamentary constituency in Rajasthan, he has widened the political path for the next generation of Dibangs, he said.
But in Odisha, the BJD government has taken away the social and political rights of Dibangs. Mahapabhu Jagannath’s darshan and as many pilgrimage sites and tourist sites in Odisha have not made smooth arrangements for the movement of devotees. Apart from this, the BJD government has not opened any special schools for the education of the blind, deaf and disabled brothers and sisters, he alleged.
Even though Dibangs have certificates, bus passes, ration cards, health cards and other government facilities are not properly available to them. There is no government shelter facility for the Dibangi who come to the state capital in the hope of education and employment. So they are facing the problem of non-existence. The Dibang Empowerment Department of the state government is spending thousands and thousands of crores of rupees. But its success is not found in Dibangs. The Dibangs were on fire and the directorate moved into the secretariat, but the Dibangs could not raise any complaint, said National Coordinator of Namo Dibang Abhiyan Mr. Pandit Vikas Sharma.
