BHUBANESWAR: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids targeting locations linked to the Hi-Tech Group in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
The raids focused on the trust office located in Sahid Nagar in Bhubaneswar. This trust is associated with the Hi-Tech Group of Institutions.
Simultaneous searches were carried out at five locations in Bhubaneswar, including premises connected to the Hi-Tech Medical College.
The investigation, led by the ED’s Kolkata unit, is probing allegations of money laundering, large-scale financial irregularities, and land fraud.
Specifically, the case involves suspected fraudulent acquisition of land/properties linked to Sahara India in Berhampur in Ganjam district. Complaints indicate that certain land parcels associated with Sahara India were allegedly acquired illegally by entities connected to the Hi-Tech Group. The land grabbed in Bhubaneswar by the Group.
ED officials questioned staff members from the charitable trust and Hi-Tech Medical College during the searches. This Group has illegally grabbed huge land in Bhubaneswar also.
