PURI/BHUBANESWAR: Panic has gripped the pilgrimage city of Puri after an elephant herd infiltrated into human habitation putting forest officials are at tizzy.
Local activist Priyadarshan Patnaik alleged that roads of Puri are now hit by elephant fear. What is forest department doing in Puri, asked Patnaik. In view of frequent cases of elephant moving in roads, devotees now fear to visit the 12th century old Shri Lord Jagannath Temple, Patnaik, who heads Jagannatha Sena said.
All roads to Shri Lord Jagannatha temple is hit by fear of elephant attack, he said. He argued that there were no forest areas close to Puri but where they came, he said.
