BHUBANESWAR: The eighth edition of National Media Conclave (NMC) is all set to kick off on November 23, 2024 at KIMS Auditorium on KIIT Campus, Bhubaneswar. The logo and poster of the 3-day conference was released today at Institute of Media Studies’ (IMS) conference hall here by Conclave Chairman Prof. Upendra Padhi in the presence of its organising committee members.

This year, the conclave will commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of former Odisha Chief Minister Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab and cherish his journalistic works by holding different plenary sessions. Considered as Eastern India’s biggest academic meet, the media mahakumbh with the broad theme ‘Media in AI Era’ aims to sensitise about the digital ecosystem and the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on society and media by welcoming insights & views from across the academic as well as professional spectrum.

The 8th NMC is being organised by IMS, Utkal University in association with Odia Language, Literature & Culture department, OCAC, Govt. of Odisha, KIIT University and Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).

As per practice, the conclave will have an inaugural ceremony, seven plenary sessions on various contemporary themes and parallel sessions for paper presenters followed by the closing ceremony. More than 700 participants including senior media educators, research scholars and students from 70 universities across the country will attend the conference. Around 80 research papers will be presented in different parallel technical sessions, informed Padhi during the release of the logo.

Among others, Associate Professor & Associate Dean, KIIT School of Mass Communication Dr. Rajeev Kumar Panda, Assistant Professor of Birla School of Communication, BGU Dr. Gyanaranjan Mishra, Associate Professor of Social Work Dr. Gayatri Patanaik and Assistant Professor of Communication, IMS Manoranjan Panda were present.
