ECI says 73.97 percent Voting recorded till 11.45 PM in first phase in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR:  Odisha CEO Nikunja Dhal  quoting ECI report late on on Monday night said that ,73.97 percent Voting recorded till 11.45 PM in first phase in Odisha.Nabarangpur Lok Sabha seat witnessed 80.22% followed by Koraput 76.98% , Kalahandi 75.71% and Berhampur 63.34% , CEO Odisha said.

The voting trend was 62.96 % recorded till 5 PM in first phase in Odisha.The figure till 1 PM,  it was 39.30 % across the 4 Lok Sabha and 28 Assembly seats under it in first phase of polling in the State which ended peacefully.

The CEO Odisha Office said, turn out till 11 AM , the figure was  23.28 %  ,which was 9.75% at 9 am this morning. CEO Odisha office hoped an impressive voting till end while latest report says 73.97 percent Voting recorded till 11.45 PM in first phase in Odisha. Polling in the fourth phase recorded an approximate voter turnout of 67.25%., ECI said.

CEO Office said, Voter turnout at close of the poll shall be continuously updated as the polling parties continue to arrive at the receiving centres. Further, a copy of ACCOUNT OF VOTES RECORDED (FORM 17C PART I) is provided to each polling agent at the end of poll.

Voting conducted in 4 Lok Sabha seats including Kalahandi, Berhampur, Nabarangpur and Koraput seats and 28 assembly seats under it spread across 9 districts of Ganjam, Berhampur, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Kalahandi.

Mock polls were conducted at 5.30 am, during which, glitches in the EVMs were noticed in some places and those were replaced. A total of 52 ballot units, 58 control units and 43 VVPATs have been replaced.

This is less than 1 percent of the total number of booths, he said. Highest 10 ballot units, 41 control units and 19 VVPATs have been replaced in Kalahandi Lok Sabha segment, Dhal  said.
