NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India on Friday announced Schedule for General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Jharkhand, 2019.
Polling will be held in five phases i.e. on 30th November, 2019, 7th December 2019, 12th December 2019, 16th December 2019, and 20th December, 2019. Counting will be held on 23rd December, 2019 The detailed schedule is attached herewith. The term of the Legislative Assembly of Jharkhand is due to expire on 05.01.2020.
The Election Commission of India (hereinafter ECI) is committed to hold free, fair andtransparent election to the Legislative Assembly of Jharkhand before the cessation of its termin exercise of the authority and powers conferred upon under Article 324 read with Article 172(1) of the Constitution of India and Section 15 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
