BHUBANESWAR:  The BJP on Thursday alleged that BJD is using the BSKY card as a weapon and is disturbing the people of Odisha. During the elections, the spokespersons of the BJD are beating the drum that the people of Odisha are getting health care for Naveen Patnaik.

‘In fact, due to Naveen Babu’s inaction, doctors of Odisha have gone to other states and countries to provide health care. The number of high-tech dentists in the state and the problem of dental workers are increasing. Government hospitals in Odisha are not being properly managed. Naveen Babu has done “BSKY” to nurture private medical centers, BJP leader Dr. Pratap Kumar Pani said while addressing a press meet along with Party’s State Chief Spokesperson, Sajjan Sharma.

In this, the private medical center is benefiting more than the people of Odisha. There is shortage of doctors, paramedical staff, technicians in government hospitals in Odisha and the state government has no intention to solve this shortage. There is a need of 47 thousand doctors in the state but there are only 27 thousand doctors. 17,385 nursing officer posts are vacant, 998 pharmacist posts are vacant in the state. Similarly, according to the NITI Aayog report, 41,971 people are affected by malaria in Odisha. Which is the highest globally. Due to the inefficiency of the state government, the healthcare system has become a disaster.

The campaign has turned into a farce of all Biju health cards. Huge amount of money is being looted through private hospitals. There is no ‘check and balance’ or ‘audit’ on the BSKY card. On the other hand, the Chief Minister says that Odisha is the number one in the world in terms of healthcare. So will you answer why serious patients are being airlifted to Bhubaneswar by air ambulance from district level medical centers to provide better quality treatment?

The spokespersons of BJD are saying that before Naveen Babu came, there were 3 medical colleges in Odisha, in the last 10 years it has reached 13. But the number of medical colleges has reached 74 in Tamil Nadu, 70 in Karnataka, 69 in UP, 68 in Maharashtra, 47 in Kerala. The biggest thing is that in the state of Assam there are 3.5 million people but there are only 13 medical colleges. Odisha has a population of 4.5 crores but there are also 13 medical colleges here. While health insurance in all states provides huge benefits, BSKY in Odisha is nothing compared to that. Many major medical centers of the state do not even have a CT scan system. It is very unfortunate that Naveen Babu is giving colorful dreams to the people of Odisha without improving the health services in Odisha.

Despite the high revenue coming from Angul district, there is no drinking water, and the health condition is in a deplorable condition. Odisha District Mineral Fund has a fund of 17 thousand crore rupees, but Naveen Babu has failed to provide water. Under the rule of Naveen Babu, people are choosing for water. People are suffering health problems due to bad water.

In Odisha, Naveen Babu is spending Rs 10 lakh on health, while Rajasthan government is giving Rs 25 lakh. Naveen has done for BSK war to raise the private hospital. There is no shortage of money in Odisha, but the people of Odisha are unable to get healthcare. Naveen Babu is nurturing non-Odia developers instead of investing the money. Similarly, if the BJP comes to the government, it will make permanent the jobs of the employees and workers who have been working for a long time in the National Health Mission. – Dr. Pratap Kumar Pani added.
