BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Police Chief Abhay and his trusted lieutenants Crime Branch Chief S Priyardarshi and DIG Special Task Force, JN Pankaj were happy men now with Men-in-Khaki chasing drug peddlers and continued to give them sleepless nights.
Backed by DGP Abhay’s committed leadership, STF till on Thursday right, have so far seized 27.05 Kg including today’s 4.025 kg Brown sugar.
STF detected 22 cases including this case against the drug peddlers. So far STF arrested as many as 43 drug peddlers.STF seizer in last 7 months is more than the total cumulative seizure made by Odisha Police (All agencies of Odisha Police) for the last 08 years.
STF sources 1 Kg 749 grams on seized on 11.03.2020 followed by 2 Kg 729 grams on 19.03.2020, 1 kg 008 grams on 02.06.2020, 4 kg 458 grams on 19.06.2020, 3 kg 285 grams on 19.07.2020, 1 kg 320 grams on 17/18.08.2020, 4 kg 025 grams on 26/27.08.2020
In the year 2018 Odisha Police seized 523.89 quintals of ganja. In the year 2019 Odisha Police has seized 618.15 quintals of ganja. Till july this year 614.50 quintals of ganja was seized.
Till last report came, over 630 quintals of ganja has been seized. Hence, current year seizure has already been more than seizure of last year (2019) and the year before (2018), Odisha Police said.
