Droupadi Murmu, conferred National Awards on teachers from across the country at a function held in New Delhi

NEW DELHI: On the occasion of the holy ‘ Teachers’ Day ‘ , Honorable President Smt. Draupadi Murmu presented the prestigious ‘ National Teacher Awards-2025 ‘ to 81 best teachers of India including Odisha at a special function organized in New Delhi on Friday . Out of which, 45 teachers from the Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of India were honored with the ‘ National Teacher Awards ‘ while 21 teachers from the Department of Higher Education and teachers from other departments were honored with this prestigious award.

At this function organized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan thanked the Honorable President for honouring the talented teachers of the country with the National Education Awards and for giving them blessings and guidance. Shri Pradhan extended his greetings on ‘ Guru Diwas ‘ and congratulated the honoured teachers.

He said that the teachers who have been honoured with the ‘ National Teachers’ Awards ‘ today , their interest and desire to brighten the lives of the children is commendable. Especially, their innovative teaching style towards making teaching more interesting and stress-free is inspiring. He appreciated the commitment of the teachers to carry forward the spirit of the National Education Policy and said that India is proud of the commitment of these teachers.

The Union Minister has congratulated Odisha’s Basant Kumar Rana and Tarun Kumar Dash for being awarded the National Teachers’ Award in ‘ X ‘. He mentioned, ” The dedication and efforts of teachers like you to provide innovative education to students in remote areas like Malkangiri and Koraput are highly commendable. Your work will always inspire the education society .” Apart from this, paying tribute to former President of the country and eminent educationist Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary, he mentioned, “Teachers are not only limited to studying and teaching, but they teach us the way of thinking, the art of living and a sense of responsibility towards the nation.”
