BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday congratulated Smt Draupadi Murmu on being announced as candidate of NDA for the country’s highest office.
“Congratulations Smt #DraupadiMurmu on being announced as candidate of NDA for the country’s highest office. I was delighted when Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji discussed this with me. It is indeed a proud moment for people of #Odisha. I am sure Smt Murmu will set a shining example for women empowerment in the country,” Chief Minister tweeted.
Twice elected to Odisha Assembly from Rairangpur constituency in Mayurbhanj Dist in 2000 and 2004. She was a minister in the Odisha Government (BJD-BJP Coalition Govt) from 2000-04 She was also the Jharkhand Governor from 2015-21.
