She has invoked sections 12, 17, 18 and 19 of the Act. Anubhav and Varsha had married on February 8, 2014.

Varsha  has claimed that “Truth can never remain Hidden,”. Reacting to the 47 page divorce petition filed by her Lok Sabha MP husband, Anubhav Mohanty in Delhi’s Patiala House Court, the actress in a tweet said one should fear God before blaming someone with fake and false allegations. Varsha’s petition at Cuttack SDJM court to be heard later in the day on Monday.

“Truth can never remain hidden. One should fear God before blaming someone with fake and false allegations. I have complete faith in Almighty , Nothing above law. I need blessing of each and every one in this toughest time in which I am going through. Trying to break the silence,” the Ollywood actress tweeted @VarshaPriyadar3.  In another tweet, Varsha expressed his gratitude to those who love her and stand by with her in this crsisi. “Much respect and love to you all. Jay Jagannath,” she tweeted. Varsha broke her silence following a press release issued by the BJD Lok Sabha MP regarding his divorce petition in Delhi Court.

In his 47 page Petition filed at Delhi Patiala Court, Lok Sabha MP Anubhav Mohanty claimed that Barsha had sought 3 to 4 months to keep physical relationship with him after their marriage in 2014. MP Anubhav claimed that his wife also denied keeping physical relation on the 4th night(Suhagrat). MP Mohanty also claimed that he is staying separately from his wife since May 2019. MP Mohanty said in his petition that he was upset with the behaviour of his wife after marriage and tried his best to calm but failed for which he filed the divorce petition.

Anubhav has stated in his petition that Varsha had asked him here to four months’ time for establishing conjugal relationship, to which he agreed respecting her decision. The married life of the couple was not smoother even in Delhi when Anubhav went there after being elected to the Rajya Sabha before 2019.His next attempt was after the couple returned to Cuttack, where Varsha seemed happy and assured him of getting on with a happy and healthy married life. But to Anubhav’s further disappointment, she sought more time.

In the petition, Anubhav has further accused Varsha of not staying at her in-laws’ house and frequently going to her parents’ house. Her behaviour was also painful to the in-laws. She miserably failed to discharge her matrimonial obligations, thereby harassing and torturing him. Besides, he has alleged that Varsha made false allegations by linking him with his co-actresses.

She was always threatening him to drag him as well as his family to court in false criminal cases.Meanwhile, on Sunday, Anubhav issued a statement saying “personal space and privacy” of him and Varsha “must be respected”. He stated this after a copy of his divorce petition got leaked into the media.

The 8-page petition filed by MP Mohanty’s actress wife Barsha Priyadarshini at Cuttack SDJM Court, hearing of which is slated for Monday, tells its laud and clear that Naveen Patnaik did a blunder by fielding this nefarious actor in Kendrapara and ensuring his win against BJP’s National VP-Spokesperson, Jay Panda. “After a series of FIRs filed against MP Mohanty from Cuttack to Kendrapara on several cases, now his own wife alleging about physical and mental torture and harassment against him, which shows, the BJD MP is a habitual offender,” sources said.

Barsha filed the case under the ‘Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act’ in the court of Cuttack SDJM under Section 12 for allegedly assaulting and harassing Barsha.. She alleged that Anubhav is a habitual drunkard and often drinks with his friends at home. Barsha alleged that whenever she tried to prevent Anubhav from drinking, he would get violent and physically assault her. She even alleged that Anubhav had the time and again tried to throw her out of the house. The Ollywood actress had even alleged in her petition that MP Anubhav has extramarital affairs with multiple women from the Odia film industry. On the other hand, the Kendrapara MP has said that he is yet to receive any legal notice from the court on the matter. He said let’s wait and watch and everything will be clear soon.

Barsha further accused Anubhav of being a womanizer. She claimed that she would wait for him to return home at the time of dinner and when he did, the MP would be in an inebriated state. She claimed she would cry the whole night and curse her luck for marrying Mohanty. In her plea, Barsha has demanded house rent of Rs 20,000 per month, maintenance of Rs 50,000 per month, a compensation of Rs 13 crore, loss of earnings and medical expenses of Rs 2 crore from her husband. Anubhav and Barsha tied the knot in 2014. On financial bungling, the actress stated that though both of them had acted in several films together after marriage, Anubhav has not given her any money till date.

Citing the latest case of inhuman abuse, she said during the lockdown, Anubhav’s entire family left for Delhi leaving her all alone in the house. They neither enquired about her nor gave any money till their return on May 25. “I went through a lot of mental torture during the period,” said Varsha. On June 7, Anubhav and his father scolded Vasrsha in foul language for around two hours, she alleged. On June 11, they forced her to file divorce on mutual agreement.
