BERHAMPUR: On Saturday, a district level workshop cum coordination meeting was organised by the joint initiative of voluntary organisation, Youth for Social Development and UNICEF at District Samagra Sikshya office conference hall, Chatrapur, Ganjam for the formation of a Child-Friendly Gram Panchayat at every GP of Ganjam district and discussed about the achievement of the project child friendly gram panchayat.
The Chief Guest at this workshop was Vice Chairman of the District Council, and esteemed guests included the Add. District Medical Officer (PHO), Administrator, One Stop Center (Sakhi), as well as Chief and Director of Cures Organisation, Supervisor, ICDS, Rangeilunda Block, Block President, Mo sewa Kendra, Add. District labour officer, and Action Aid District Coordinator was participated in this workshop.
All the officials expressed their views on the Child-Friendly Gram Panchayat and the achievement of last one year of Rangeliunda Block to ensure child-friendly measures. In particular, ensuring children’s rights, including them in the social security scheme during emergencies, and ensuring their participation in local governance was discussed.
Various natural disaster alerts, ensuring child safety during emergencies, discussion on child protection, and planning were also discussed. The need for a preparedness plan for creating child-friendly Gram Panchayats was emphasized. Discussion was also held on government schemes and services available for children.
From Youth for Social Development Program Coordinator Chandan Kumar Sahu, Project Coordinator Narendra Kumar Sahu, Block Coordinator Biplab Kumar Behera, Geetanjali Panigrahi, Sudip Kumar Chakraborty, and Mamali Panda was led the program.
