BHUBANESWAR: With mining auction going on for the 40 mines expiring by March 30, 2020, the Naveen Patnaik Government in Odisha, in a bold step, has integrated two Directorate with Steel and Mines Department.
With this, Director of Mines and Director of Geology has been integrated with Steel and Mines Department. However, after integration, the Directorates would continue to function in their respective locations, officials said.
Sources said there would be a single file system through the Odisha Secretariat Workflow Automation System (OSAWS) and these two composite directorates would process the files using OSWAS System,” read the notification.
Necessary unified Budget provision for the integrated department would be made from the next Financial Year, 2020-21, said sources.
Earlier on August 21, 2019, the Department of General Administration and Public Grievance issued a resolution in this regard for integration of directorates with respective department.
