BHUBANESWAR: Former Union Minister Dilip Ray has welcomed the move of the State Government over Shree Mandir Parikrama Project in Puri, which had also got green signal from the Supreme Court.

Re-tweeting Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweet “ତୁମ ଇଚ୍ଛା ବିନା ପତ୍ରଟେ ହଲେନି ଆହେ ଜଗନ୍ନାଥ। ଜୟ ଜଗନ୍ନାଥ” the former Union Minister and Hotelier Ray said “‘Truly nothing happens without the consent of Lord Jagannath. The Srimandir project will benefit lakhs of devotees. Transforming Puri into an international place of Heritage, it will enhance the glory of the abode of Lord Jagannath making it one of the best-organized Dham,”

The former Union Minister’s reaction came after the Supreme Court on Friday dismissed two petitions filed alleging illegal excavation and construction activities by Odisha Government around the Jagannath Temple in Puri. “We highly deprecate such practise of filing public interest litigations, they are nothing but an abuse or process of law,” the bench of Justices B R Gavai and Hima Kohli said.
