BHUBANESWAR/ROURKELA: With Dharmendra Pradhan at the helm of affairs at Steel-PNG Ministries and Naveen Patnaik led Government in Odisha, extending all out support, Steel Authority of India Limited is collaborating with the Govt. of Odisha to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
A new COVID-19 Testing Lab set up at SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant’s Ispat General Hospital (IGH) has been made ready for sample testing.
Dipak Chattaraj, CEO, Rourkela Steel Plant and Aboli Sunil Naravane, ADM, Rourkela, accompanied by Dr S. S. Pati, Director In-charge (Medical & Health Services), RSP visited the facility on 15th April and they were explained about its various aspects.
It is worth mentioning here that all the major equipment for the testing facility has been provided by Govt. of Odisha, while the infrastructure has been provided by RSP. Doctors and paramedics of Ispat General Hospital trained at RMRC, Bhubaneswar and AIIMS, Bhubaneswar will carry out the testing.
Nasal and throat swab collected from the suspected persons at the HiTech Hospital, Rourkela and District Head Quarter Hospital of Sundargarh district will be tested at the Lab of IGH. It normally takes at least 6 to 7 hours to get the results of a batch of samples.
It is noteworthy that the Testing Lab facility at IGH will be of great help in quick identification of Coronavirus patients and containment of the disease.
