VIZAG/BHUBANESWAR: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas, Steel and Mines Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited Visakha Steel Plant on Saturday. He said that Iron Ore is being supplied from Odisha Mineral Development Corporation (OMDC) to Vishakha Steel Plant at a minimum cost.
The minister believed that a joint venture is needed for the development of the steel plant. On the other hand, the minister assured that the separate mines would be allotted to the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL).
The union minister said that the steel industry in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh are producing 85 lakh metric tonnes of steel and assured to increase its capacity to produce 2 lakh metric tons of steel by 2030.
