BHUBANESWAR: With Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is missing no stone unturned to ensure Odisha gets maximum attention from Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government and also flooding projects to Odisha from his own Ministries but it seems, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is no mood to pay heads to it.
Sources said two leading PSUs under the PNG Ministry, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), Gas Authority of India Ltd(GAIL) are facing tough time in Odisha with State Government not paying any heads to it.
GAIL is implementing Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga Project with an investment of nearly Rs.13,000 Crore while IOCL is investing Rs.3400 Crore Pipeline Project connecting Paradip to Hyderabad.
GAIL’s Jagadishpur-Bokaro-Haldia-Dhamra Pipeline with an investment of Rs.12, 940 Crore, which is popularly known as Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga for supply of natural gas to the Eastern India including Odisha. This pipeline is also being extended from Barauni in Bihar to Guwahati in Assam covering 730 Kilometres.
District administrations of Jharsuguda and Sundargarh other Districts, where the pipeline is covering 769 Kilometres inside Odisha also reportedly not cooperating the Oil PSUs off official to expedite these projects.
IOCL is too facing the same Jagatsinghpur in district for Paradip-Hyderabad Pipeline as locals opposing the projects. These projects were slated to be completed by August 2020 but things not looking good.
