Shri Pradhan mentioned in the letter that Panda Niyog Sanskrit Vidyalaya located in the premises of Shrimandir is an ancient institution. It holds special importance from cultural and historical points of view. This ancient institution was established by the then Gajapati Maharaja. This school has played an important role in imparting Sanskrit education, Vedic education and ritual training to the children of the servants. This school is currently functioning as an aided school run by Puja Panda Niyog. It also has a permanent Record of Rights in its name. The main objective of the school is to preserve and disseminate traditional knowledge, promote Sanskrit as a medium for spiritual work and protect the unique cultural and religious heritage of Shri Jagannath Temple.

In this regard, the Union Education Minister has requested the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration to bring the entire management and administration of the school under the School and Public Education Department, Government of Odisha. This will ensure the overall development of the school and preserve the glorious heritage of Shri Jagannath culture for future generations, he mentioned in the letter.
