Dharmendra Pradhan Thanks PM for Kochi-Mangaluru Natural Gas Pipeline Project

NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG –Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday expressed his greatfulness to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Kochi-Mangaluru Natural Gas Pipeline project, of which the PM inaugurated.

“I am grateful for the PM’s  commitment to reducing fireworks and reducing climate change. This dynamic national project will play an important role in Prime Minister Modi’s clean roadmap and green path. #UrjaAatmanirbharta,” said Pradhan.

“Dedication of the ambitious Kochi-Mangaluru natural gas pipeline by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today is a historic moment in our journey towards becoming a gas-based economy. This will usher a clean fuel-led development for the people of Kerala and Karnataka.Grateful to PM Narendra Modi ji for his commitment towards reducing carbon footprints and mitigating climate change. This ambitious national project has seen the light of day due to PM Modi’s clear-cut roadmap and  efforts for adopting green pathways. Gujarat under the Chief Ministership of PM Narendra Modi two decades ago had led the way in emerging as a gas-hub. Gujarat’s current share of natural gas in its primary energy mix is 26%, 2% above the global average of 24%.  #UrjaAatmanirbharta,” Pradhan added.

Earlier, Prime Minister  Narendra Modi dedicated Kochi – Mangaluru Natural Gas Pipeline to the Nation through a video conference today. The event marks an important milestone towards the creation of ‘One Nation One Gas Grid’. Governors and Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Kerala, along with Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister termed this day as an important milestone for both the people of Kerala and Karnataka as the two states are being connected by a natural gas pipeline. He said the pipeline will have a positive impact on the economic growth of these two states. He said rapid expansion of Gas based economy is a must to achieve self reliant India and cited this as the reason behind Government’s push for ‘One Nation One Gas Grid’.
