VARANASI/BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday reviewed progress on the CNG dispensing station under CNG boat conversion project and ghat revitalisation project being undertaken by GAIL (India) Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. at Khirkiya Ghat in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
GAIL is undertaking work to strengthen the CNG infrastructure and convert 2000 diesel-run boats into CNG to help reduce pollution in river Ganges and ensure a clean environment. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. is redeveloping the Khirkiya Ghat in Varanasi to preserve its heritage and glory.
Earlier, On the occasion of #RavidasJayanti Union Minister Pradhan purchased a traditional handmade footwear from Shri Lal Bahadur’s shop in Varanasi. Highly skilled in his craft, Lal Bahadur ji from the Ravidas community is handcrafting comfortable,high-quality & genuine leather footwear for the last 40 years.
“The handicraft industry and our local artisans are a vital cog in the vision of #AatmanirbharBharat. I urge everyone to appreciate our local products and adopt the #VocalForLocal mantra given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage local craftsmen like Lal Bahadur ji,” he said.
