BJP on Wednesday observed Bandh in Kalahandi while demanding immediate resignation of State Minister Capt Dibya Shankar Mishra for his alleged link with Govida Sahu, accused in teacher Mamita Meher murder case.

Meanwhile, the Youth Congress Activists  staged a demonstration in front of Naveen Niwas alleging the involvement of Minister  Mishra in Mamita Meher’s case. According to reports, the agitators waved black flags and tried to barge inside the Naveen Niwas. However, they were detained by the police.

Meanwhile, the accused, Govind Sahu, who escaped from the police custody, was apprehended. Later, he confessed to the crime during questioning to Balangir police. Sahu has confessed during questioning by police that he killed the woman and buried her body. Sahu and Mamita went to Bhawanipatna in his car on October 8. While returning, Sahu murdered Mamita inside the vehicle. As the woman desperately tried to save herself and escape, the back seat of the car got torn, the report said. The report further said Mamita had two objectionable videos of Sahu, for which he decided to eliminate her to evade further trouble for him. It may be noted here  that body of Mamita Meher, a teacher of Sunshine English Medium School in Mahaling of Kalahandi district, who was missing for the past 11 days, was recovered from an under-construction stadium in the district.
