BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday hoped that the talks between Andhra Pradesh Chief Jagan Reddy and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will fetch positive outcome on border and water disputes.
Taking to twitter, Pradhan reminded about his letters to two respective Chief Ministers.“ଆନ୍ଧ୍ରପ୍ରଦେଶ ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ @ysjagan ଜୀ ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ @Naveen_Odisha ଜୀଙ୍କୁ ସାକ୍ଷାତ୍ କରିବାର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମ ରହିଥିବା ଗଣମାଧ୍ୟମରୁ ଜାଣିବାକୁ ପାଇଲି । ଏହି ବୈଠକରେ ସୀମା, ଭାଷା ଓ ଜଳ ବିବାଦ ସହ ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବିଷୟରେ ଆଲୋଚନା ହୋଇପାରେ । ସେ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରୁ ଏହି ବୈଠକ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ।,” Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted@ dpradhabjp.
“On September 22, I wrote a letter to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister regarding the border dispute and the protection of the Oriya language on October 1. I later informed the Odisha Chief Minister about the border dispute,” Pradhan said.
“ଗଣତନ୍ତ୍ରରେ ଆପୋଷ ବୁଝାମଣା ଏବଂ ଆଲୋଚନା ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଅନେକ ବିବାଦର ସମାଧାନ ହୋଇପାରିଛି । ଦୁଇ ରାଜ୍ୟ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସର୍ବୋଚ୍ଚ ରାଜନୈତିକ ସ୍ତରରେ ହେଉଥିବା ଆଲୋଚନା ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ସୀମା, ଭାଷା ଓ ଜଳ ବିବାଦର ଆପୋଷ ସମାଧାନର ବାଟ ବାହାରିବ ବୋଲି ମୁଁ ଆଶା କରୁଛି।,” he added.
The Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, Patnaik and Jagan Mohan Reddy, are set to meet in Bhubaneswar on November 9 to deliberate on interstate border disputes amongst several other matters concerning both states. Reports suggest that both CMs are expected to take up the Polavaram Project on the Godavari and the disputed construction of barrage over the Vamasadhara River, a crucial east-flowing river between Rushikulya and Godavari in Odisha and North Eastern Andhra.
