Dharmendra Pradhan Holds Talks with CPSUs working in Odisha

NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday convened a meeting with senior management of all the PSUs operating in Odisha spread across sectoral Ministries, captains of healthcare and financial institutions and senior officials of Odisha Government to review the COVID-19 management and emergency preparedness in Odisha.

Ashwini Vaishnaw BJP Rajya Sabha MP, Additional Chief Secretary Health and Family Welfare Odisha, Pradipta Mohapatra, NALCO CMD Sridhar Patra, Subharajit Ghose CGM of Indian Oil , Director AIIMS Bhubaneswar, ILS, RMRC, Mission Director- National Health Mission, officials of NBCC India Limited, Airports Authority of India, State Bank of India , NABARD, Paradip Port Trust were also present in the meeting.

Minister Pradhan and officials discussed synergising efforts and working with a ‘whole of government approach’ for ramping up the health infrastructure, including enhancing capacity of dedicated isolation beds, intensive care units and beds with oxygen support across the length and breadth of Odisha.

“I encouraged all our PSUs to take lead in procuring vaccines from the open market under the Liberalised and Accelerated Phase 3 for inoculating their human capital as well as people above 18 in the civil society to further speed up the vaccination drive in Odisha.

I also stressed on combining strengths of all stakeholders and working with an integrated approach for creating a robust healthcare delivery system, effective resource utilisation & to  ensure better preparedness for combating the current #Covid19 wave as well as for new waves,” the Union Minister said.

“We also discussed ways in which we can assist, facilitate & work together with the Govt. of Odisha in ramping up testing and other resources, including emergency medicine for offering a better and stronger response to the pandemic. Together we can and will overcome this,” Pradhan added.
