Dharmendra Pradhan hold talks with ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India

NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday held  meeting with officials of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India and officials at Ministry of Steel, Government of India. Discussed future roadmap of AM/NS India, alignment with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and AM/NS’s envisioned contribution of 30MTPA to the 300 MTPA total capacity envisioned in National Steel Policy.

“AM/NS India will play an important role in contributing to Hon. PM’s Mission Purvodaya by capacity expansion in the region. This will facilitate regional development and generate jobs for local youth. Called for expediting projects with planned timelines to speed up value creation,” Pradhan tweeted@dpradhanbjp.

“With planned capacity addition of 12 MTPA in Odisha which is 57% of total expansion plan, AM/NS will play an important role in facilitating further industrial development of Odisha and create employment for the local youth,” he said.

“Capacity augmentation of Paradip plant in Odisha is key to realising the mission of achievement 30MTPA capacity by AM/NS. Also called for AM/NS cooperation in the setting up of Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute in Kalinganagar within the integrated steel hub.Also called for making Indian steel more competitive, focus on value addition in the areas of special steel, capital goods and facilitating greater steel usage in India to benchmark with the global standards,” he added.
