CUTTACK: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday led a massive public rally in Cuttack in Odisha as part of BJP’s door-to-door 10-day campaign to spread awareness about the Citizenship (Amendment) Act along with other senior leaders.

Dharmendra had held a public meeting on Sunday at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home seat Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

Pradhan visited homes in the city and talked to people about the benefits of the amended citizenship law. He also distributed literature on the subject and urged them to go through it. Pradhan also met people from minority communities, particularly Muslims in Cuutack city, known for brotherhood.

Pradhan reminded about the age old brotherhood tradition of Cuttack city where Muslims always joined hands with Hindus for major festivals.

Pradhan accuses Congress and Left of instigating riots by misleading people over Citizenship Amendment Act. He also held discussion with several intellectuals, police makers and celebrities.

The BJP has launched a ‘Jan Jagran’ (public awareness) campaign to contact three crore families to counter the opposition’s campaign against the CAA and inform the masses about its features.

While President and Union Home Minister Amit Shah was in Delhi on Sunday, other top party leaders like Rajnath Singh, J.P. Nadda and Nitin Gadkari were in different parts of the country as part of the campaign, which will end on January 15.
