Dharmendra Expresses Happiness after Naveen gives his Nod to AMNS’s Kendrapara Plant

BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday in a tweet , expressed his happiness after the Odisha Government’s High-Level Clearance Authority , headed by Chief Minister Patnaik approved ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel’s  proposal to set up a 24 MTPA integrated Steel plant, at a cost of Rs 1.02 lakh Crore.

“Pleased to know that the proposed 24 MTPA capacity steel plant of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS) at Kendrapada with mega investment of Rs 1.02 Lakh crore has received the necessary clearance by the Odisha Government,”Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted @dpradhanbjp.

“Buoyed by Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi’s twin vision of Purvodaya and Aatmanirbhar Bharat and backed by supportive policies, this plant will usher in a new era of development in the region and facilitate large scale job creation for the youth, Pradhan added.

The company has proposed to set up a 24 MTPA integrated steel plant at Mahakalpara block of Kendrapara district. This mega project will generate direct employment opportunities to 16,000 persons and create significant indirect employment opportunities through ancillary and downstream industries and services.

The approved project is the largest project in the manufacturing sector in the country. At its Kendrapara complex, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS) will produce 24 MT of various grades of steel with its latest green steel making technology. It will also produce high value added Steel downstream products.

This facility will also produce 18.75 MT of cement annually, making it one of the largest cement manufacturing plants in the country and will boost the infrastructure development in the region.
