NEW DELHI/ BHUBANESWAR: Union Petroleum, Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has chalked out the Road Map and Action Plan for infrastructure Development in Odisha while holding a Multi Sectoral Meeting with several Central Infrastructure Ministries and Odisha Government officials on Saturday.
The discussions centered around the Road Map and Action Plan for an infrastructure and connectivity-led industrial development of Odisha. This will go a long way in making of an Aatmanirbhar Odisha.This is in line with the clarion call of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Infrastructure-driven economic growth will also create large scale employment opportunities for the youth of Odisha, said Pradhan.
One of the Major Infrastructure Projects is Coastal Highways, which Pradhan is pursuing.This Highway is to be constructed under the Bhratmala Pariyojana of the Central Government at an estimated cost of Rs 5,000 crore. It will provide connectivity to 178 villages in Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak and Balasore. Similarly Steel Hub in Kalinga Nagar will spur faster development in the state and major infrastructure like highways, railway lines are planned in the Steel Hub Project, said officials.
Representatives from Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Power and Ministry of Jal Shakti and Chief Secretary of Odisha were present in the meeting.
