NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was on Tuesday chaired a roundtable on India-US Energy Cooperation organised on the eve of the 2nd Ministerial meeting of the India-US Strategic Energy Partnership along with representatives from US-India Strategic Partnership Forum led by Mukesh Aghi, Amb. Taranjit Singh Sandhu and captains of the US & Indian energy industry.
“Shared my views on India acquiring a leadership role in global revival due to the available talent and on the country’s ability to reform and rejuvenate. PM Narendra Modi’s #AatmaNirbharBharat initiative has catalysed our efforts to convert #Covid19 challenges into opportunities,” said Pradhan.
“Energy infrastructure is a key component in transforming India as a global manufacturing hub of the 21st century and achieving the goal of self-reliance. India is going to witness an investment of over US$ 118 billion across the oil and gas value chain in the next few years. There are several opportunities coming up in the Indian energy landscape, especially in #biofuels, LNG terminals, LNG bunkering, expansion of CGD network and other natural gas infrastructure and in oil & gas exploration,” he said.
“I welcome US energy industry leaders to leverage these opportunities and invest in India. I also welcome friends from the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum to collaborate with Indian companies to facilitate and develop tie-ups in innovative initiatives around clean tech, waste-to-energy and solar,” he added.
