BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was on Sunday led the Sangh Pariwar’s condolences on the sad demise of RSS ideologue and Chairman, WODC, Subash Chauhan.

Chauhan was Chairman of Western Odisha Development Council and former National convenor of Bajarang Dal and was a true RSS ideologue. Chouhan has left for his heavenly abode at 3.05 am on Sunday at a private hospital here. Chauhan was earlier admitted in hospital for treatment.

BJP National VP-Spokesperson and 4th times former MP, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda deeply condoled the death of Subash Chauhan. “I am deeply condoled the sad demise of Subash Chauhan, a good organiser and his demise has created a vacuum in Western Odisha politics,” Baijayant Panda said.

Union Minister Pratap Sarangi, BJP MPs Suresh Pujari, Basant Panda, Sangeeta Singh Deo, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Nitesh Ganga Deb, BJP State president Samir Mohanty, Spokespersons Sajjan Sharma, Golak Mohapatra, RSS Saha Pracharak Srusti Bal, BJD MP Dr Sasmit Patra, Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board, Sanjay Das Burma and others condole the death of Chauhan.

Subash Chauhan, who was the torchbearer of a new brand of politics in Odisha, is no more with us. He left for his heavenly abode today. He was the quintessential ideological warrior who always respected his ideological rivals.

He harboured no animosity even towards his trenchant critics. I knew him for almost two decades when he was in the RSS and Bajrang Dal. A self-made person, he personified grit, determination and tremendous willpower.

He contested the 2014 LS polls on a BJP ticket & lost by a very narrow margin. Later he joined BJD before the 2019 polls and appointed recently as Western Odisha Development Council chairman. His life was cut short before he could give a new direction to WODC. He was an extremely warm, amiable & generous person who held no grudge against anyone, twitted senior Journalist Soumiyajit Patnaik.
