BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi sponsored Dharmapada Award for the year 2022 was on Monday conferred on eminent painter Bansidhar Pratihari at a special function on February 6 at Sanskruti Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Dharmapada Award carries a purse of Rs 5 lakh, a citation and a shawl. The Dharmapada Award is the highest honour given to an individual for lifetime achievement and contribution to visual art and sculpture
Minister Ashwini Patra, Additional Chief Secretary Odia Language Literature & Culture Department, Satyabrata Sahu, Padma Shri and Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi President Sudarsan Pattnaik, Odia Language Literature & Culture Department Director Ranjan Kumar Das, and senior Culture Department officials were among those present.
Five noted personalities were also felicitated. They were Brajabandhu Mishra (Sculptor), Laxmidhar Subudhi (Palm leave artist), Bhramarbar Nayak (Pattachitra painter), Ramesh Kumar Behera and Keshab Chandra Maharana. The special awardees felicitated with Rs 1 lakh cash and a citation.
