BHADRAK/BHUBANESWAR: Never seen before scene at Naveen Niwas on Sunday on counting day for Dhamnagar bypolls. With trends showing favour to BJP since morning and not single news from Bhadrak came in favour of BJD, VVIP area like Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wore deserted look. The spin doctors and their micro management in elections and by elections took a u -turn.
At the end of 13th round counting for Dhamnagar bypolls, BJP’s Suryabanshi Suraj got 58, 332 votes while BJD’s Abanti Das got around 51,577 votes and trail by 6755 votes from BJP. BJP’s Suraj lead by 6755 Votes.
Independent candidate Raju Das got 6892 votes and Congress candidate got 2602 at the end of 13th round of counting. BJP’s Suryabansi taken lead in all the 13 round counting.
About 14 large tables are in place for the purpose and the counting will be completed in 18 rounds. However, the Postal Ballots counted first.The results will decide the fate of five candidates– Abanti Das (BJD), Suryabanshi Suraj (BJP), Baba Harekrushna Sethi (Congress), Rajendra Kumar Das (Independent) and Pabitra Mohan Das (Independent).
The outcome may likely impact on 2014 general elections since both BJP and Congress gearing up to confront with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who has been ruling this eastern State since 2000 with wining 5 consecutive elections. In last by polls, held in Jharsuguda, Jagatsinghpur , Pipili and Balasore BJD had won all these seats.
