CUTTACK:The Director General of Police, Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, today met the family of Constable Sahneli Ganta, who died in an accident, at the State Police Headquarters and expressed his condolences and presented a cheque of Rs. 1 crore towards the accidental death insurance amount provided by the State Bank of India. On this occasion, the DGP thanked all the officials of the State Bank of India for disbursing the insurance amount in a short time.
It is noteworthy that the deceased was working as a constable in the Rayagada District Reserve Office. He met with an accident while performing his duty near Therubali on July 5. Today, his father received the cheque from the DGP of Vrindavan Ganta.
On this occasion, ADP Director(Headquarters) Shri Prateek Mohanty, SBI, (Chief General Manager), Shri A. D. Ratnateja, SBI, (General Manager), Shri Kaushal Kishore Singh, SBI, (Deputy General Manager), Shri Ashish Kumar Mishra, SBI, (Regional Manager), Shri Uttar Kumar Patel, SBI, (AGM) Shri Nagendra Sahu, SBI, (AGM) Shri Manoj Kumar Pradhan were present.
It is worth mentioning that an agreement was signed between Odisha Police and State Bank of India earlier. As per the agreement, SBI has provided an assistance of Rs 1 crore in case of accidental death.
