DGP Visits Pipili, Reviews Security Measures for April 17 Polls

BHUBANESWAR/PIPILI: DGP Abhay on Monday visited Pipilli and reviewed the security arrangements for the bye-poll. The review meeting was held at Pipili PS in presence of Y.K.Jethwa, Additional DG of Police, (Law & Order), R.K.Sharma, Director Intelligence, J.N.Pankaj, DIG of Police, Cetral Range Dr. Kanwar Vishal Singh, SP Puri. Steps for conduct of free and fair elections, security of candidates, campaigners and voters area dominance were discussed.

2 ASPs, 3 DSPs, 3 Coys CAPFs, 29 platoons OSAP including 01 Coy of OSAF (Odisha Swift Action Force) have been deployed  at Pipili.

On-going Enforcement drive against anti-socials, illegal arms, illicit liquor etc. was reviewed.Preventive steps so far by Puri Police include:Licenced Armed deposit – 71.PR u/s 107 CrPC submitted – 95, Persons bound down-889. PR u/s 110 CrPC submitted – 51 , Persons bound down – 51.NBW executed – 82.  Excise Cases – 96, Persons arrested – 96

ID liquor seized – 523.900 litres. DGP directed SP and DIG to ensure full proof security arrangements and strong action against anti-socials and those creating breach of peace.
