CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: The Bye-election for 07-Jharsuguda Assembly Constituency of Jharsuguda District will be held on May 10.
On Monday, DGP, Sunil Kumar Bansal reviewed the poll preparedness with Director Intelligence Sanjiv Panda. Additional DG of Police (Law and Order) RK Sharma, IGP (Provisioning.) Yatindra Koyal, IGP (Personnel), S Praveen Kumar, IGP, Northern Range, Deepak Kumar DIGP (Intelligence) Anup Sahoo and SP, Jharsuguda , Parmar Smit Parshottamdas through Video Conference.
DGP emphasized on the free, fair transparent, impartial and incident free bye-election. He stressed on strict enforcement of model code of conduct and adherence to the ECI guidelines for Police arrangements and security arrangement. He further emphasized on intensifying prophylactic measures including bounding down of persons U/s 110/ 107 Cr. P.C., seizure of illegal arms, seizure of illicit liquor and execution of NBWs.
Shri R.K. Sharma, ADGP, Law and Order reviewed the overall deployment plan and emphasized on Mobile Squads and Flying Squads and thorough checking by setting up Nakas around the constituency.
Shri Sanjeeb Panda, Director Intelligence shared the intelligence connected with the Bye-election and urged the IGP, NR, Sambalpur Deepak Kumar and SP, Jharsugudda to closely monitor the situation to ensure smooth conduct of poll.
07 Coys of CAPF, 16 platoons of State OSAP/APR, 25 mobile patrolling parties, 08 flying squads, 08 SST along with district Police Officers/ Men will be deployed for smooth conduct of bye election.
Police have seized 1452 Litres liquors, registered 158 nos of excise cases and executed 112 nos of pending warrants during the Bye-Election process so far.
Adequate security arrangements have also been made in strong room with CCTV coverage to ensure round the clock safety of EVMs. The election will be conducted with strict enforcement of ECI guidelines. No /Con-A
