On July 23, Odisha ADGP (Railways and Coastal Security) Pranabindu Acharya had said that the suicide note, which was recovered by the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Bhubaneswar, was handwritings of the deceased social worker Aditya Dash.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on had Wednesday sought a detailed action taken report from Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Police Commissioner in connection with the death case of social activist Aditya Dash. The Commissionerate Police have been giving 4 weeks time to submit the report.
The apex rights body issued the direction after taking cognizance of a petition filed by supreme Court lawyer and social activist Radhakanta Tripathy on July 24.In his complaint, the petitioner stated that the as wife and friends of the late Aditya dash are engaged in mudslinging, the cloak of mystery is yet to be lifted from the death of the social worker, who was receiving threats from criminals as he launched an anti- liquor agitation.
Besides, the CCTV footage of the railway station where Aditya was killed is missing while the post-mortem report, his hand written diary, the forensic laboratory and circumstantial evidence shroud mystery over the death of the social activist, he added.
The delay in arresting the culprits, exposing the truth and uncovering the mystery over the death poses serious question of human rights as it involves role of police, intelligence and law and order of the state, Tripathy contended.
