BHUBANESWAR: DGP Abhay on Tuesday expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for approving a proposal of State Police to allow Sub-Inspectors (SIs) be in the charge of 216 police outposts in the State.
“We are deeply grateful to @Naveen_Odisha for creation of 216 posts of SIs to head Police outposts.Our outpost functioning with improve n we will be able to serve people better.#CMO_Odisha,” DGP, Odisha tweeted @DGPOdisha.
Sub-Inspectors (SIs) will be in the charge of 216 police outposts in Odisha. A proposal in this regard has been approved by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Earlier, the Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) were heading the outposts.It is expected that training and crime investigation skills of the SIs will be helpful in curbing crimes at the police outpost-level.
